New Model Home in St. James

Kent Homes announces the start of construction of a new furnished Model Home in St. James Plantation. Located on Wing Foot Drive near the Woodlands, The Balboa Island will feature a brick exterior, the Library/Expanded Loggia, and the Bonus Room with a Bath. Del Coronado II - New Plan ......

With the success of the Del Coronado plan, Kent Homes is expanded its Portfolio by adding a new perspective for the Del Coronado. The Del Coronado II boasts a Classic European architecture with arched dormers and arched cornice details on the front porch complemented by the stucco and stone exterior. Pricing for this new plan will be available this coming fall.

The Santa Cruz is born...

Kent Homes announces the addition of new Portfolio plan to it's Coastal Traditional Collection this fall.  The "Santa Cruz" will be the largest plan in the Coastal Collection boasting over 2800 sq ft.  A finished Bonus Room with a Bath can be added also.  Some of the features include a oversized Loggia, a seperate work shop in the garage, a octogan shaped grand foyer way, and an executive style office or library which Kent Homes has named  the "Club Room".  Of course you will find many of the signature Kent Homes features in this plan.  Look for pricing soon!

Saving Homeowners $$$!

Last week I read an article in "National Building News" how smaller builders need to be creative in finding ways to build alliances that allow them to bring down their building costs in order to compete better in this slumping economy. This made me think of the Builders Co-Op my company started here 3 years ago, "Custom Builders of North Carolina". Our local Co-Op is one of fourteen city's around the nation who works with a national company, Custom Builders USA, to help builders maximize their purchasing power, in turn passing savings along to their customers.

Our local Co-Op, is made up of 34 builders who leverage their buying power as one entity rather than 34 seperate builders. This definitely has gotten the attention of national manufacturers, local suppliers, and trade contractors. My company projects we save our customers at least $5,000. per home as result of being part of the Co-Op.

I agree we need to be creative in making housing more affordable especially in this economy, and I am glad to be a part of Custom Home Builders of North Carolina helping bringing the cost of housing down in our area.
